BittWare selected to present at first annual AdvancedTCA Summit

4 years 9 months ago → Conferences and Awards

CONCORD, NH – November 21, 2005 – BittWare, Inc. announced today that Technology Fellow, Dr. Kenny Adamson, has been invited to present a lecture entitled “Next Generation Wireless – A Multi-DSP AMC Modular Approach” on Wednesday, December 7, at the first annual AdvancedTCA Summit, “AdvancedTCA Comes of Age.” The conference will be held at the Wyndham San José Hotel, in San José, California, from December 6-8.

“The lecture will discuss next generation wireless technology, major challenges facing the industry, and the differences between HSDPA and WiMAX wireless standards,” said Dr. Adamson. “A hybrid solution utilizing multiple DSPs and high density FPGAs in a modular AdvancedMC™ design will be the suggested solution.”

This lecture ties in with the First Customer Ship of BittWare's B2-AMC (B2AM). The B2AM is based on the AdvancedMC™ specification (PICMG AMC.x), a subset of the AdvancedTCA specification designed for smaller form-factor mezzanine cards in the telecommunications industry. BittWare will also be exhibiting at the conference on Booth #410 and providing a demonstration of an all-software baseband solution for UMTS basestations.

"A major new market is emerging for UMTS basestations. The baseband section is the hub of the basestation and is conventionally implemented using a combination of software and dedicated hardware,” said Dr. Kenny Adamson. “This demonstration displays an all-software baseband solution which provides manufacturers with a rapid and low cost means of bringing their products to market and represents the future in basestation design."
