Topic - Meeting real-world carrier requirements with AdvancedTCA and AdvancedMC systems

for Fixed-Mobile Convergence network applications

Abstract:

Modular standards such as AdvancedTCA and AdvancedMCs promise Telecom Equipment Manufacturers reduced design and manufacturing costs as well as marketing advantages from standards claims. The potential market scale for these standards encompasses green-field equipment opportunities, customization prospects, and increased demand for large, scalable network processing. However, without careful control, standards efforts can develop into marketing hype for service providers that instead would gain from standards with clear, concise directives, independently verified compliance, and ensured interoperability.

This seminar will address these carrier concerns and present ideas on how all members of the value chain may benefit from open hardware standards such as AdvancedTCA and AdvancedMCs.
