MontaVista Linux Carrier Grade Edition Available on Motorola's latest AdvancedTCA based Communications Servers

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--July 10, 2006--MontaVista Software Inc., the leading Linux provider for the telecommunications, mobile and embedded markets, today announced that MontaVista Linux Carrier Grade Edition (CGE) 4.0 is available as an integrated part of Motorola's AdvancedTCA® (ATCA®) based Centellis(TM) 3000 series of communications servers. Carrier Grade Edition 4.0 also will be made available as part of Motorola's Avantellis(TM) high-availability platform.
MontaVista Linux CGE 4.0 is the industry's most full-featured, deployment-proven Carrier Grade Linux available, and features the latest 2.6 Linux kernel technology. MontaVista Linux CGE is an advanced Linux-based development platform designed specifically for the robust and highly available requirements of carrier grade applications.

MontaVista Linux CGE is integrated with the Motorola Centellis 3000 communications servers. Specific MontaVista blade support for Centellis includes the ATCA-F101 system controller and switching blade as well as the ATCA-717 and ATCA-7221 processing blades. Both processing blades are ideal for implementing a wide range of control plane applications for next-generation wireless and wireline telecommunications infrastructure equipment.
