CTIA-The Wireless Association(r) Welcomes Amy Storey as New Director of External Communications

11 months 1 day ago

WASHINGTON, DC — CTIA-The Wireless Association® announced today that Amy Storey will be joining the wireless industry trade group as the new Director of External Communications. Having worked in various capacities for one of the world’s premier public relations agencies, as well as serving in key roles for a number of elected officials on the state level, Storey brings considerable public affairs communications experience to the Association.

“We are delighted to have Amy join the team here at CTIA, and I’m confident she’ll be a great addition to our communications effort,” said Steve Largent, President and CEO for CTIA-The Wireless Association. “Amy has a tremendous track record of taking complex policies and communicating them to various audiences in simple, straightforward terms. Her experience in media relations and leadership in developing communications and strategy plans on a national level will be valuable assets for CTIA and the wireless industry as a whole.”

Prior to joining CTIA, Storey was the Vice President of the Corporate Reputation and Technology Practice for Fleishman-Hillard International Communications in Washington, D.C. In this role, she provided communication and public affairs support and served as lead staff for key technology and wireless communications accounts. Before her time at Fleishman-Hillard, Storey was a Project Coordinator for Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle; a position in which she fulfilled multiple roles, including lead staff person for First Lady Jessica Doyle, event coordinator, and surrogate scheduler for the Doyle for Wisconsin campaign.

Storey began her career as Campaign Manager and Legislative Aide for Wisconsin State Senator Kevin Shibilski, where she served as the lead staff person in coordination of a contested statewide lieutenant governor race. Storey received a bachelor of arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Storey will officially step into her new role at CTIA on Monday, March 16, 2009.
