ADLINK and Wind River Form Strategic Alliance

5 years 4 months ago → Technology Partnerships

Irvine, CA (March 24, 2005) – ADLINK Technology Inc., a world-leading CompactPCI and AdvancedTCA® solutions provider, announces a strategic alliance with Wind River to become the premier device software optimization agent in Taiwan. The two companies will develop a close relationship and cooperate to design hardware and software system technologies.

ADLINK is the only industrial computing company in Asia offering a complete product line of CompactPCI and AdvancedTCA ® solutions that support Wind River VxWorks.

ADLINK offers the VxWorks Board Support Packages to the CompactPCI single board computers (SBC) including the 3U Intel® Pentium® M cPCI-3840 and the 6U Intel® Pentium® M cPCI-6840 and Intel® Xeon® M AdvancedTCA® SBCs.

ADLINK CEO Jim Liu said, “Integrating ADLINK’s Military defense, communication and automated control technical leadership and products with Wind River’s embedded operating systems and development tools will provide an outstanding platform solution for software/hardware integrators. This will also significantly reduce development time, thus moving products to the market faster.

“ADLINK and Wind River have broken the barrier between hardware and software through a strong market partnership,” added ADLINK CEO Jim Liu. Product development and technological teamwork between these two parties began in 2004.

Wind River’s Senior Regional Director for Asia Pacific Namiq Kunimoto expressed that the company is particularly thrilled to build this partnership with ADLINK. As industrial automation and test and measurement gradually expand to become Taiwan’s next high-growth industry, Wind River’s fully-developed software technologies will allow ADLINK to focus on innovative research and development as well as strengthening product capabilities to provide a unique solution for improving production line automation with greater control and higher efficiency.
