Data I/O Corporation Announces Programming Support for Samsung OneNAND

5 years 2 months ago → Technology Partnerships

REDMOND, WA - June 9, 2005 -- Data I/O Corporation, the leading provider of manual and automated programming systems, announced the first manual and automated device programming support for Samsung’s OneNAND technology. Support is being provided through Data I/O’s FlashCore system programming family, including the FlashPAK desktop programmer, the PS family of offline automated handlers/programming systems and the RoadRunner inline programming system.

“Data I/O’s programming systems make it easy for designers to merge multiple files from different types of memory in highly efficient Multi-Chip Package (MCP) designs that include OneNAND, which is perhaps the leading example of combined NAND and NOR design efficiency ,” said Ivan Greenberg, Director of Strategic Marketing at Samsung. “Data I/O’s aggressive support for OneNAND technology reinforces the value of OneNAND-based solutions in the mobile sector.”

“This support for Samsung’s OneNAND is in keeping with the strategic direction we set some time ago -- to be the first to provide programming solutions for highly promising NAND technologies,” said Bruce Rodgers, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Asia/Americas. “In serving Data I/O’s single largest customer group – cell phone manufacturers – Samsung OneNAND devices make low-cost high-performance mobile applications easier than ever to design.”

Data I/O’s support of Samsung NAND MCP memory devices leverages the Samsung Flash file system and thin control layer ensuring that pre-programmed images created with Samsung’s Image Build Tool will work without incident.

The first OneNAND-based MCP solution supported by Data I/O will be Item # KBJ1XKB00A, containing a 256Mb NOR, two 256Mb OneNAND and one 128Mb UtRAM die.

Data I/O supports all Flash markets with a wide range of leading NAND technologies including OneNAND, as well as high density NOR Flash devices.
